Frequently asked questions.

  • Trauma-informed therapy is an approach that understands how trauma impacts the way you think, feel, and move through the world. Whether it's a big traumatic event or a series of smaller, ongoing experiences, we look beneath the symptoms to understand what’s going on in your body and brain.

In a trauma-informed space, you're not treated like a problem to fix. You're met with compassion and curiosity. We balance safety, autonomy, boundaries, and trust because we know that healing can't happen when you feel overwhelmed, judged, or out of control.

  • We believe therapy is an investment in your well-being. Below are our current session rates:

    • Individual Therapy Session – $160

    • Play Therapy Session – $170

    • Family Therapy Session – $185

If you have any questions about fees, payment options, or how to get started, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help any way we can!

Limited sliding scale available to those who qualify (subject to availability).

  • While we don't accept insurance directly, your plan may have out-of-network (OON) benefits, which means your insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost.

If you do have OON benefits, we have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. They take care of submitting and managing the claims for you, so you don't have to worry about the hassle of submitting superbills yourself. Once you meet your deductible, you also have the option to pay a reduced fee for our sessions, instead of paying the full rate and waiting for a reimbursement check.

You can use the widget on this page to check whether you have OON benefits and your expected fee post deductible.

  • We accept cash and all major credit and debit card payments. There are no additional fees to you, as we cover the costs of the credit card fees. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted.

We do not accept personal checks, cashier’s checks or money orders.

Payment is due at the times of services rendered. We do not accept payments in advance.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer the spot to someone else who might need it.

Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice will have a $130 late cancellation fee. No-shows will be charged the full session rate.

We get that life happens, so if there’s an emergency, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to work with you.

  • Therapy can be a powerful and life-changing experience. It gives you a safe, supportive space to work through your emotions and life experiences. It can help you make sense of things, strengthen your relationships, handle life’s ups and downs, ease anxiety and stress, and work through past experiences to increase your quality of life. Think of therapy as a space to heal, grow, and move toward the best version of yourself.

  • Kids don’t always know how to express their feelings or make sense of big emotions. Therapy gives them a safe, supportive space to feel heard and understood while building emotional resilience and improving behavior. We also partner with parents to help support your child’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs so they can thrive in all areas of life.

  • Research shows that weekly therapy is usually the most effective, especially at the start of your journey.

If you can, we recommend starting with weekly sessions and then adjusting the frequency as you feel more stable.

However, this is your journey, and we’re all about flexibility! If starting bi-weekly or monthly works better for you, we’re happy to work with whatever fits your needs.

  • Telehealth is available to anyone over the age of 15. Please note that some therapy modalities require in-person sessions and may not be available via virtual therapy.

All clients engaging in virtual therapy must be physically located within the state of Georgia at the time services are provided.

  • For kids under 12, the intake session is with just the parents or guardians. Kids ages 12 and up should come with parents or guardians to participate in the intake process.

The intake session helps us gather all the background and developmental info we need to understand your child’s needs. We’ll ask a lot of questions to get a sense of your child’s world and build a framework to help us get started.

  • There’s definitely quite an alphabet soup of therapy letters, and therapists do love their acronyms. Here’s what our credentials mean:

    MS – Master of Science
All therapists must complete a master’s degree in counseling. Our specific degrees are in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

    LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
We have completed all required educational courses, internships, and supervision hours and are licensed by the state of Georgia to practice as counselors. Our licenses are governed by a board housed in the Secretary of State department.

    RPT – Registered Play Therapist
We have completed additional education specific to play therapy and received supervision from a play therapy-specific supervisor. This credential is awarded by the Association for Play Therapy and requires ongoing continuing education to maintain.

EMDR Certified – Certified Provider of EMDR Therapy
Certified through EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) after completing specialized training and supervision by a trained EMDR Consultant.

  • This one’s a little tricky, but we can’t acknowledge that we know you, as it could break your confidentiality.

So, the choice is totally yours! Feel free to say hi if you’d like, or just keep going with your day. Either way, we’re totally comfortable!
