Hannah Reed, MS, LPC, RPT (she/her)

Hannah, therapist at Willow & Moss Counseling, smiling warmly in a professional setting, offering trauma therapy with a compassionate and client-centered approach.

I’m so glad you’re here.

I work with kids, teens, and adults affected by hard or messy experiences—especially those involving close relationships. This might include growing up with emotional abuse or neglect, ongoing family stress or conflict, a tough divorce, or being hurt by someone you trusted.

For many, the pain didn’t come from one big event—it built up over time through feeling unseen, dismissed, or unsure if their needs would ever be met. That kind of quiet hurt shapes how we see ourselves and move through the world. My work helps people notice these patterns, understand their roots, and find steadier ground.

I started therapy as a kid and have returned to it throughout my life, so I understand how vulnerable it can feel to sit across from someone unsure what to say—or if it’ll even feel safe to say it. That experience shapes how I show up: with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the courage it takes to be here.

I’m down-to-earth, direct, and fully myself. I take your story seriously but believe there’s room for humor, lightness, and real connection—even in the hard stuff. If you want a therapist who’s grounded, honest, empathetic, and a little irreverent, we might be a good fit.

With kids, I use play and expressive arts to help them process overwhelming or confusing experiences—especially when they don’t yet have the words. Play creates safety, expression, and healing. I also work closely with caregivers to support connection, confidence, and co-regulation at home.

With teens, I create a space where they feel respected, seen, and safe to show up as they are. We make room to explore things like identity, relationships, big emotions, and the impact of past hurt—without pressure or judgment.

With adults, I support those navigating the lasting effects of trauma—whether relational, developmental, or complex. You might be experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, identity shifts, depression, or dissociation. We work together with curiosity, compassion, and at a pace that honors your nervous system.

I always keep the bigger picture in mind—your relationships, community, culture, and identity. All of that shapes how we move through the world, and it all belongs in the room. You already have resilience and wisdom—we just work together to access it in ways that feel steadier and more self-led.

If any of this feels familiar—whether for you or a child or teen you care about—you’re not alone. Therapy can be a place to start untangling what’s been hard and find steadier ground. Whenever you’re ready (or even if you’re just curious), you’re welcome to reach out.

My path to becoming a therapist started with a degree in Visual Arts and Psychology (I had plans to be an art therapist, but time makes fools of us all).

I worked as an Advocate at The Partnership Against Domestic Violence before grad school, where I learned quickly that healing isn’t clean or linear, and support has to be practical and human.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist, a Certified EMDR Therapist, and a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and completed my internship in the Behavioral Health Unit at Emory Decatur Hospital. Since then, I’ve worked in private practice with kids, teens, and adults—specializing in trauma and the many ways it can show up in people’s lives.

My approach is collaborative, grounded, and tailored—because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Get to know me!

I'm happiest at home, basking in my introversion, usually working on something creative—miniatures, painting, crochet, drawing, knitting… it changes by the week (and is how I am choosing to use my expensive art degree). I like picking up new skills and learning new things. Creating is my favorite way to process and engage in self care.

I was extremely lucky to be raised by a mother who was, and still is, a teacher who believes that learning flourishes through imagination and play. She has always been an inspiration. I also inherited a love of books from her—I’ll devour paperbacks or audiobooks, especially when I can pair them with a creative project. I am an unapologetic nerd and psychology is my favorite thing to nerd out about.

I enjoy collecting fun and weird jewelry—anything offbeat, or ever so slightly strange (peep the doll arm earrings in my profile picture). I’m in my Ms. Frizzle era.

I keep a tight inner circle and care deeply about my people. One of my favorite places to be is my screened-in porch—outside without the mosquitos. And green is my favorite color, which will be blatantly obvious to anyone who’s seen literally all of my stuff.

I rely on humor—dry, dark, (hopefully) timing-dependent—as a way to hold space for the hard things without getting swallowed by them.
